Jenny Proznik Announces Re-election Campaign for Lewisville ISD School Board

Lewisville ISD Board President Jenny Proznik announced Wednesday that she filled for re-election to the LISD Board of Trustees for District 3. Proznik is finishing her third three-year term on the LISD Board of Trustees. This will be the first election where Proznik will run for District 3 as a single member seat covering North and Eastern areas of The Colony, East Carrolton, Hebron, along with Denton County Plano and the Frisco area of LISD. During her tenure Proznik has been a fierce advocate for maximizing student achievement while focusing on efficient use of tax dollars. Through her partnership with fellow trustees, Drs. Rogers and Rapp and the community, these efforts have included the implementation of a facility plan for district buildings as well as passing three bond packages which allowed for modernized and safety enhancements for facilities, expanded STEM and Career and Tech facilities, established a welcome center and also an improved outdoor learning center at LISDOLA. District voters have also passed a VATRE allowing The Board to maximize the allotment available to LISD through the Texas funding formula. In past terms, Proznik led the charge on getting students and parents the option of including class rank on their transcripts and has served as a strong advocate for developing LISD’s fine arts programs. She has served two years as Board President, sits as an Ad-Hoc member on the LISD Education Foundation Board and has held a long-term major role on the board’s audit committee along with chairing the Superintendent’s evaluation committee, where she partnered with fellow Trustees on creating a dynamic tool to both support and evaluate the district’s CEO position with the ultimate goal of always keeping the district efficient and on the cutting edge of public education. In 2022 Proznik was awarded the title of “Master Trustee” after a year-long training through The Texas School Board Association. One of Proznik’s main goals has always been “to continue to support principals as instructional leaders because they are our feet on the ground. It is vital that they have the most timely support and tools available.” Other priority items for Proznik continue to be addressing the current LISD staffing shortage, which schools across the nation are also facing, and advocating for 100% high school student involvement in extra-curricular activities. “High school students who are involved and engaged in extra-curriculars perform at a higher level academically and are more likely to receive a diploma,” she said. “Serving LISD as a trustee is a role I take very seriously,” she said. “My record shows I am not afraid to ask hard questions and I do my homework before voting on agenda items. After nine years of serious engagement in LISD communities I have a strong pulse on where the district needs to go in the future and I am passionate about working with fellow Board members and Dr. Rapp to reach the district’s short- and long-term goals.” Proznik also feels strongly about working with state legislators and city leaders in all LISD municipalities, building advocacy that will help maintain LISD as a pillar that supports families, cities and economic development in North Texas. "We share the vision of a strong, well-educated Texas. I am eager to collaborate with leaders at all levels to ensure this vision becomes a reality for our students."
