Jenny Proznik
for Lewisville ISD
Board of Trustees, District 3
Melissa Dooley, Treasurer
Those who know me or who have attended LISD board meetings understand how I work:
1. Any teacher will tell you that the first step to learning is to ask questions. I ask questions....a lot of questions.
2. I am an independent thinker. You will always know where I stand by my vote, even if it's the only "yes" or "no" vote
3. Studying each meeting or workshop agenda is something I take very seriously and I dedicate several hours to this process. This is what the taxpayers elected me to do.
4. Service to LISD is my top priority. This is my full-time volunteer job and after my family, Lewisville ISD is my top priority.
5. We have 13 cities where all or a portion of those communities are served by LISD. Each of these cities matter to me.
Every parent in each city wants a quality education for their child.
All business owners in these cities want strong schools because great schools drive families to live there and support their business.
6. Your home is your greatest financial investment and your children are your greatest emotional investment and both are tied to the ISD in which they reside. I believe you deserve a great return on both!
As I continue to serve LISD we celebrate many accomplishments but continue to look towards the future. The role of a trustee involves a wide scope of topics from contracts in the business office to how the budget provides for tools available in the classroom.
Topics I have a strong passion for include:
1. Striving for 100% extra-curricular involvement for all middle and high school students. Students who have an activity they are passionate about perform at a higher level in school and stay in school through graduation. I advocated for this as part of the Superintendent's goals for 2021-2022.
2. Placing great focus on support for our current and future campus principals to be the best they can be. Principals are our boots on the ground and our face of each campus. The principal is the instructional leader and sets the climate and tone for the campus. LISD must also be filling the pipeline for future leaders in the district with learning opportunities.
3. Maintain our STEM, CTE, and other specialized programming and provide resources to keep these programs on the cutting edge and available to ALL students across the district who want to participate.
4. Support and build upon community partnerships with programs such as Communities in Schools, Love Pacs and Collin College and NCTC.
5. Early childhood intervention is key to the future success for all students. I support LISD staff continuing to develop this programming and enhancing the opportunities currently provided by The District.
6. Safety is always a top priority. Through the 2017 & 2024 bond packages our district made important campus improvements to strengthen the physical safety measures in our buildings. LISD also has specialized trained staff who plan for and monitor the safety of all LISD schools and facilities.
7. My record shows I have worked to provide the best schools possible, while keeping LISD's tax rate low when compared to other ISD's in the DFW Metroplex. When making decisions, I keep the best interest of students, staff AND the tax payer in mind. The LISD tax rate has been lowered .3022 since 2016.
8. The most important thing I can provide a classroom is a qualified teacher. By utilizing partnerships with universities to give student teachers an opportunity in LISD, we are growing our own programs and finding ways to keep LISD one of the best places to work so we can retain and attract the best teachers for our students.
